1968' 40hp not pissing

I've got a 68' 40hp selectric shift. It's my first motor and I am getting it to run according to the manual. My question is this: I've replaced the water pump and was told that if I put a garden hose to the water tubes (while disassembled) that I should see it "piss" out the back. It doesn't, and the manual shows and says nothing about what to check or how to fix this "blockage". Help of any kind would be appreciated!! THANK YOU!

the thermo is still closed...put the gearcase on and try it...it should flow well.

I'm no pro but the same thing happend to me..After a couple of days of searching for the problem it was the 90 degree elbow right at the pee hole clogged with debrie. Check the pee hole,elbow, and the water line itself for clogs.
