"I just bought a 3hp Johnson outboard,the year is a 1968..I dont know to much about it, so my question..What kind of oil should i use for my prop,,and what should be the fuel/oil ratio..oh! how many times should i change the oil.. And should i grease any parts on it.."

"Gearlube = HiVis, available a

"Gearlube = HiVis, available at Wal*Mart, K-Mart, any dealership, etc.

Mixture = 24/1... 1qt of 50/1 oil to 6gal gas. Octane of 87 will be fine.

Grease where needed. Change gear lube once a year unless problems develop."

My Johnson 3hp 1968 modle #JHL

My Johnson 3hp 1968 modle #JHL23M serial #E2946114.. I had it over heat on me this weekend..well it only sucks just a little water..so could it be the water pump..or something else..It only pumps just some when its turned right..other then that i dont see any water comeing out..thanks
