1967 Evinrude 33hp cooling troubles

"Hey guys,
I have an old 67 evinrude 33 and i just replaced the impeller. I had it in on an 18' 1965 corson and the impeller was running but after about 15 minutes of run time, the stream of water out the vent ran dry. I am perplexed at what is causeing the problem."

"Engine picked up a plastic bag that covered the water intake.

Head gasket failing which would allow combustion enter the water passageway which would cause a water flow stalemate.

If no problem is found in the above areas, I'd strongly suggest that the lower unit be dropped in order to double check the water pump components."
