"can anyone tell me what the correct compression would be for a 66' evinrude 40 hp lark selectric shift? i've got 80 psi in one cyl, and 86 psi in the other."

"That's kinda low - is that cranking by hand or with the elect starter? If by hand, the compression relief valves may be fouling the readings.

The motor should have about 100psi.

You may have stuck rings. Try running Seafoam through the motor and recheck the compression."
