My winter project this year is a 1965 Mercury Model 60. Serial Number: 1793503
Found it laying in the bottom of an old aluminum boat.
I'm having an issue identifying the points, but that is a different thread.
I'm new to outboards so I may not understand the basic operation. With it on engine stand, it is very difficult to swing the engine back and forth. I lubed all the pivot points I can identify and there is a lever under the main body and above the engine mount that appears to be inoperative.
My next step will be to disassemble the mount system. Am I headed in the right direction or am I missing something simple?
