Hi,
I am new to outboard motor lower unit repair. The lower unit was disassembled when I purchased the boat. I replaced the seals and waterpump. Refilled with oil and installed. I am able to shift it into forward by pulling the mercontrol back. When I move the lever forward it goes into reverse but it gets stuck and will not budge. I then have to disconnect the shifter cable and move the shift lever manually to unjam the control cable. I am unsure as to how the cams function or as to the correct position for intallation. Any pointers on the correct alignment for installing the shift linkage?
Thanks
