1965 95hp gearcase explosion

I removed the lower end of thi

I removed the lower end of this motor to clean sand from it and when I had the cover off I shifted the motor out of neutral to forward and gears went everywhere. Does anyone have a diagram of how this gearcase assembly goes together? I paid $20 for the motor and most places I have found want $30 for a manual. Please help

Ok then go to the year 1968 9.5 horsepower evinrude/johnson....it will give you a parts diagram, and it should be either identical to your gearcase or close enough to get you back together. The website isnt the best setup, but it works.

Just shifting the motor when the lower unit is off affects nothing. It will all be correct when you reassemble and hook up the shift connecter.

Thanx "K Graham" I got it put back together this evening with the help of the diagram. Saved me tons of trouble and money thanks again.Do you know where I could find a prop for this motor?
