1965 40 horse johnson water intake?

New to boating and just bought a boat with a 40 horse johnson RDS-27M. Not real sure were to attach the motor flusher. I can only find what looks like one strip of about 5 pea sized holes on the left side of the lower unit, just above the prop. Is this what I need? Any one have a manual for this classic. Thanks in advance

The main water intake is behind the prop !--------------------You would need to find a special adapter/s to run that motor on a hose.--------Check the thermostat on top of the cylinder head.--------Then install a new impeller and take it to the lake !

The flushers for these mtrs are N.L.A. Get a big trash barrell, fill it with water and run it in that. Make sure the water level goes at least 1/2 up the exhaust hsg.

here at marine engine i have same engine i have one of those hose adapter but does not belong to me .

need to know the size (diameterand length, and thread count) on water pump housing bolts when take it apart. i toke mine apart and lost the bolts/ screws. thanks tom

the number for that hose flusher is tempo 918FAA don't know about sell , don't think so since he still has motor that he used it on and it works on mine too. might find one on ebay.
