I am replacing dry rotted and cracked wire on my bigtwin, and need a little help identifying some wires and what I need to do with them.. I have a brown wire coming out of the wire loom going into the compression chamber. Here it is:

Second wire is a white wire coming off the cut out switch. How should this be connected coming out of the wiring harness?

I dont have the junction box or wiring harness to connect to the motor, so I have to wire everything seperately. These are the only 2 wires that I dont know what to do with. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I've got a '68 40 hp, and just got done doing this (identifying wires). The brown wire going to the block is a temp gauge. You should have a "hot" light in your gauge cluster.

ok....that makes sense Mokey. From the looks of the wiring diagram in the manual, it looks like the white wire is a ground coming off the safety switch. Thanks for the help!

Right....the wire grounds the small terminal on the solenoid to allow activation and power to the starter.
