"I have the chance to buy a 1962 Evinrude model #35932 40hp outboard motor. The motor has not been used in several years and I would like to put it on my old 17' Alumacraft fishing boat. This motor also has an electric shift. Being this motor is a 1962 model, are parts available for this motor? Will it be a reliable motor and will the electric shift an issue? Or, should I look for a newer motor for my boat? I currently have an old Chrysler motor on my boat that has given me nothing but problems! Will the Evinrude be a problem also? What would be a fair price to pay for this motor?
