1960 75hp boring question evinrude

Good idea but far more money than what you might want to pay. There may be problems finding the parts as well.---------------------Go to the ----------AOMCI -------website and post an ad for a good used block.

i have a good engine block, only need boring, also have another 60hp block, parts are available however, 46 for .020 pistons and 80 for .040 pistons, not always aboout the money, sometimes a guy just needs a challenge

Well without knowing where you live it makes it hard to recommend a machine shop. I would check your yellow pages or talk to your local car/motorcycle mechanics and find out who does line boring. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere I bet there are quite a few to pick from in your area.
Goobs says hey

OK , those prices are certainly not the current prices / availability for factory parts. ---------------------So go ahead and have it rebored.

toledo/detroit/cleveland area, however was told there was a good machine shop in florida, can ship block for 30 bucks each way, need a shop that has tooling and bracket to adapt to this block, heard that was hard to come by

I bore these blocks out( and others ) all the time. ---------------SIMPLE-----------set them on the surface that bolts to the exhaust housing.----Use a horizontal mill and boring head.-----A bit of experience helps a lot.

In your toledo/detroit/cleveland area, there has to be at least 100 reliable machine shops, and also at least 20 or 30 marine dealerships. Simply get into the yellow pages and start phoning the machine shops for the sole purpose of asking one question....... "Does you shop do any outboard powerhead reboring machine work".

It's best to have a oversize piston of your choosing presented to the machine shop along with the powerhead. If you don't know what size (oversize) you need, wait until the shop advises you to make that purchase. You also want to know what the standard bore of the cylinders are and advise the shop of that in order to avoid any lack of communication.

Thousands of parts in my remaining stock. Not able to list them all. Let me know what you need and I'll look it up for you. Visit my eBay auction at:
