ok ,i just rebuilt this engine, fired it up ,does anyone know where the pee hole for the water outlet is? this engine has a rubber corragated tube under the cylinder head and exiting out the back is this where the water should come out of? i pulled the t-stat cover off and did not have any water up there or any evidence of water, and yes it has a new water pump impeller, any help is greatly appreciated

Water should be shooting out the exhaust relief hole which is about halfway down the long exhaust housing between the powerhead and the lower unit.... like it was shooting out of a garden hose full blast.

In a barrel, trash can, whatever... you know where the water pump is located... the water level "must" be a few inches above that pump in order for it to function!

A little-understood motor. Yes, the bellows tube is the exhaust relief and water indicator. That is a thermostat-controlled recirculating cooling system. When thermostat is closed, a bit of mist will shoot out the relief. More when 'stat is open. It is not an either/or thing, the 'stat is constantly sampling the temperature and opening or closing as necessary to maintain proper temp. When it is closed, water returns to pump for recirculation till it warms up.

People love to to take the guts out of the thermostat. If you remove the plastic housing and relief valve. air will go down the recirculation tube and enter the pump, and it often will not pump water if it does. Do not try to defeat the thermostat operation or remove parts.

Yes. like any motor, it has to be deep enough in the water.

thats what the two water tubes are for! ok...when it was running i did feel exhaust coming out of the tube but at low pressure,i installed a brand new t stat and the plastic housing with the spring, i just couldnt tell if any water was exiting the engine or from where
