I bought a pontoon boat with this motor on it with the intention of selling it. (bad idea).
Anyway, I still have it and will be stuck until spring now before I try to sell it again. Knowing little and nothing about outboards, was wondering if anyone knows if I need to drain any water out of it before it freezes? If so, where and how? Will "try" and put a couple pics on here I took but am not very good at that either. LOL. Thanks much. (Model# should have been 35516)

I can't get uploads to work. Says my files are too big and can't seem to get them smaller.

in the vertical position all water should drain from the motor .. (but make sure any drain holes around the gearcase are not blocked)

The gear case oil should also be drained ( in case there is any water in there that might freeze) and replaced with fresh. (Do not confuse the small screw that supports the internal shift mechanism with the oil drain screw)
If there is any water present or if the old oil is milky then it indicates water intrusion and that new seals are required.

Resize your pictures with a photo editing program, MS Office picture manager, or a web-based resizing program such as http://www.resizr.com/
OR use a photohosting site such as Photobucket which will resize the pictures as you upload them, rather than the attachment facility

Thanks so much. Most helpful. I have a photobucket account and put the pics on here but they were only the bottom part of the unit. Also, when I clicked on the thumbnail, my whole photo album could be seen so I deleted them. Regards, Doug
