Opened mid section to replaced bushings, sleeves, dry rotted mounts etc. there is a butt load of grease inside but no grease fittings Do I pack it full of new grease during assembly. use only a little grease, or use none? The issue was poor handling during turns and lots of slop in steering part of the mid section.

Just to clarify my post from yesterday I was talking about the swivel tube. I am replacing bushings, sleeves, and spacers. I ought a repair manual but it doe not cover exhaust or swivel tubes. any feedback would be helpful.

Use a high quality marine grade grease, clean everything good and replace what ever is necessary. Is the copilot brake in good condition?

There is a little knob that sticks out just below the upper bushing with what looks like a BB in it that is a grease zert. Once you get it all back together shoot some grease in it until it oozes out the two bushings top and bottom.

Smear grease inside where the upper swivel bushing goes. That is where the corrosion occurs and is because the zerk really doesn't grease it effectively. That's because the swivel bushing is pinned and doesn't rotate within the bracket.

Found the spot referenced to grease and I look a little mushroomed like somebody thought it was a pin to remove, but I believe it will be useable. Looks like a thin film of grease during assembly would be a good idea. thanks for the input.
