1958 mercury mark 58a point and plug gap

overhauled engine runs good wondering what the actual gap size for points and plugs

points are at 0.008 / 0.010 "--------------sparkplugs are 0.030"

You're supposed to set the dwell angle on those, not the gap, but that'll work.

Thank you great info and fast* i took a guess*& Right now the points are set at about .011 *and would hate to overheat the coil, so i will take the point gap set*.009 then measure the dwell angle with a meter and go from there.

Look for about 45 degrees dwell.
