I am purchasing a new gear case/lower unit for my '58 35 Super Seahorse, as I apparently have a crack in the upper area above the fill that I can't get to to fix. I'm just curious and can't remember, but does the driveshaft just pull out of the gear case, via splines, or is it more in depth than that? I 'm not looking for pulling the gear case apart, as that would be foreign to me, and wouldn't feel confident about doing that. Looking for some input and advice.
