"Anybody have an idea on the weight of a 1958 Evinrude 35HP w/electric start? It doesn't have a charging circuit....did any of them?

I am thinking of repowering my 1958 Duracraft, this is the motor on it now. It will not turn (to change directions) but it does run if anyone needs parts!

129 pounds according to the original brochure for the motor. There is no mention of a generator anywhere.

"So, I picked up a spare motor that has frozen cylinders, but everything else is in good shape. Looks like I am going to use that and mine to make one good motor.

Went to buy a motor from the dealer, but there was no one in town that had a motor to go on my boat. So, I ended up at the boat graveyard and found my savior motor, plus it'll be cooler to use this motor on my old Duracraft anyway!

Congratulations. You are righ

Congratulations. You are right - it is way cooler running a nice old motor on an old boat than something newer. It's also nice to see one less nice old motor in the junkyard.
