1956 Evinrude sportwin dies after running full throttle

I recently bought a 14 foot jon boat that came with a 1956 Evinrude sportwin that sat for 10 years. I had it out on the lake this evening and it ran great for 15 minutes or so then died all the sudden at full throttle on plane. After the motor shut off there was gas flowing steady out of a small hole on the front side of the carb (not sure what the hole is called or what it does) After the motor died I couldn't get it to start again. I changed the float, valve, and seat when I rebuilt the carb a couple weeks ago. So far since I've had this motor I replaced the impeller, head gasket, spark plugs, and rebuilt the carb. I haven't checked anything ignition related but everything under the flywheel looks new and clean. Any ideas of what is causing this?

Hole on the front of the carburetor is a bowl vent. Gas flowing freely out of it suggests the float/float valve is not functioning as it should. Revisit your carb rebuilding work.
