1952 Johnson Light Twin 3hp & water pump

Last year I purchased a non working Johnson Light Twin that wouldn't turn over but compression was fine. Cleaned the carburetor and rest of the motor and it starts right up but haven't had a chance to wet test it yet. Going to do that this week but just started thinking about the water pump or if it even has one. No obvious outflow sources for the water pump, anyone know where it is on this model or if maybe it's an air cooled motor? Trying to avoid having to take it apart to find out if possible. Thanks.

By running it dry you may have ruined the waterpump impeller.----Time to remove and inspect the waterpump !!!-------It will be near the botom of the motor.---------The " light twin " was an Evinrude model designation , so do you have an Evinrude here ??

You are right, Sorry it's an Evinrude.

It was never run dry for more than a few seconds.

One of the easiest water pumps to change there are. Remove the four bolts holding the lower unit on and there it is . Water discharge is a spray of water out the holes about half way down. Most of the water goes out the underwater exhaust.
