1802 1.5 hp motor stopped running

I got an 1802 the other week at the flea market for $50 took it how saw the tank was rusted so i put a temporary one on. on the 3rd pull it fired rite up. It ran very well. after that i had it in the bed of my truck and it got thrown around a good bit in the bed and got very dust from driving through fields. Now i try to start it and i can only get a few puffs if it is fully choked. I took the carb apart and cleaned that. It has good spark, it almost seems like it dosnt have the greatest compression because the flywheel spins prety easy but i cant remember if it felt diffrent than when it was running. Could i have messed up the timing on it with it being thrown around in the bed of my truck.
 
Thats an 1968 motor, they are very tough...try shooting carb cleaner into the carb and see if she will fire up, if not then you need to check compression.... no you did not mess up the timing.....
 
Shot some carb cleaner in got a few sputters but wouldnt fire up. im positive its a 1.5 hp and its a 1802s. hope i can get the thing running again its a nice little motor. And does anyone know where i can find a gas tank for it. All the parts sites i found dont sell the tank anymore.
 
Played around with the carb a little more today, put it back together spun the flywheel with a drill and shop carb cleaner in and nothing changed only got a few sputtes. So does this mean compression is bad?
 
Stop using carb cleaner or starting fluid....these wash the oil from the rings and cause compression loss...what oil/gas ratio are you using...do a compression test...it may be something as simple as a head gasket
 
Found the problem one of the reed valves had a piece of debris in it so it wouldnt shut, removed it and it fired rite up. What ratio should i use? Ive been using amsoil 50:1. Also it isnt running as high of rmp as it did before, and the rpms fluctuate without toutching the throttle.
