175 sport jet hard cold start

"I have a (1997) 175 sport jet. The engine runs great after I have gotten it started, but it is hard to start when it has been sitting for hours and days. Is there something I can do to make a cold start easier on the starter. The engine does start normally after 5 - 8 hard cranks.

Any help would be appreciated."
