"boats new to me, just got it.took her to a marine mechanic to check out as the carbs were leaking gas, he said he rebuilt the carbs and found other issues as well and repaired them. cost over 600.00, took her out today and no go.. went back to mechanic and he showed us water in the gas, said ethanol was the issue. he flushed carbs and fuel filter and we took her back out and the same issue is occuring, engine idles good but when in gear runs rough and at full throttle stalls..also bogs during acceceration, what can i do?"

"have you done a compression test on engine? did your mechanic say he did one? whenu say he flushed the carbs and fuel filter did he also drain the fuel tank? the tank would be the source of the water, personally i dont think the ethanol would be the culprit but there is a fair chance the fuel in the tank is old and stale or was a bad batch from a gas station and already had water in it. a secret not many pertol stations want u to know " the underground tanks are 30% water, the gasoline sits on top of the water so any foreign matter heaveier than the water can go to the bottom of the tank the fuel pick up lines inside the storage tank can sometimes pick up this water if the tanks are low and the atmospheric pressure causes the actual fuel inside it to reduce in mass but expands the water content. if u havent already drained the tank in the boat do it before u run it again."
