"My 15hp 4-stroke evinrude boat motor was put up about 5 years ago. First I ran all the gas out of it and then stored it. I since tried to crank it but it would only put out black smoke. I took it to two boat mechanics and they both said it was the power pack. I spoke to MarineEngine people and they say there is no power pack on the one I have and there is not a manual for this model number "E15FREDC". This number says its an electric start but its not, its a rope pull. Can anyone help a lady out please? I either need a manual or some prints that will show me where the power pack is...

In THIS DIAGRAM
#6 is the "ignition module" part number 586136
#3 is the ignition coil assembly part number 584451

But please double check the numbers

Do check that you definitely have no sparks before spending cash ($373) on a new ignition module or buying a new coil for that matter. 3rd party made parts should be less expensive than OEM ones if available"
