15HP 4 stroke transport position?

The bumpers are on the back of the engine (2000 evinrude 15 HP 4 Stroke), not one of the sides. assuming this engine is supposed to be transported on it's back, not it's side then?

The owners manual will clarify.

Lying on the tiller may be acceptable

For transportation it may be preferable to keep upright

If in doubt drain the engine oil

Some 4 stroke engines have a decal that will tell you what side or how to lay it down. Some have a nub on the side they want you to lay it on. Or as others said when in doubt drain it out.
