150 xr2 not getting hot after impeller replacement

I just replaced the waterpump impeller yesterday and now the motor doesn't seem to get warm with the muffs on. There's water coming out of the center of the prop and a small stream out of the pisser and the temp gauge isn't moving off cold. Any ideas?
 
Turn on the hose just enough to get a weak stream from the pee hole with the engine off. Then start the engine, make sure your still getting flow from the pee hole. adjust the hose acordingly and let the engine warm up.
Are the thermostats still installed?
You may just have a bad temp gauge. you can test it by disconnecting the sensor and put it in some hot water to see if the meter moves hotter
 
Thanks for the responce. I also replace the t stats. The gauge worked fine before the head gasket and pump change. Ill do the sensor check just to make sure.
