"Anyone had this go bad? Maybe the needle/seat?
My 1998 Optimax started using lots of gas, and I can smell fuel when the engine is running, especailly after slowing down, with a little wind over the stern. Definitely something wrong. No problems with the tank, fittings, lines, this is coming from under the hood somewhere...
Thanks"

"Well, it's not the evaporator/float/needle, but I know all about that now! Gas is pouring through this system somewhere else - all I have to do is turn the key on and let it pressure up. If I turn the key on/off 2 or 3 times, waiting for the beep, but don't start the engine, I get gas pouring out onto the top of the anti-ventilation plate. Like a 1/2 cup or so. Is there something going on with the fuel rail water cooling? The primer bulb holds pressure until the key is cycled. 3 on/off key cycles just about empties it! Big problem. There is no indication of gas leaking at any fitting or hose or anywhere I can see with a flashlight and a mirror."
