150 Johnson no top rpm

I have a 1997 150 Johnson, it has good compreshion 100lbs and good spark but will only get 4000 rpm. It seams to be slugish.. Any thaughts?

Had same with my 200 jonny. Pulled off the carbs and cleaned out trash in the bowl from the fuel line hoses at the carbs that was blocking the orfices. Had to remove screws and cleared out with carb cleaner, replaced fuel lines, mtr; runs like a champ. Wasn't too hard of a job. All thanks to E-10 GAS.
