"Thomas,

The long studs usu

"Thomas,

The long studs usually get frozen in the exhaust housing. You can usually get the rear of the engine to move a bit. This enables you to cut the gasket away. Then you can reach in with a hacksaw blade and slowly cut through the long studs carefully. Then you will probably have to drill out what is left in the base of the block and install heli-coils. The studs in the exhaust housing can usually be driven out from the top. You might have to make a few cuts in the long ones as you drive them out.

Sounds like a lot of work, but if the studs are badly frozen it is the only way I know of to remove the powerhead.

"don't pry on anything, us

"don't pry on anything, use a blunt end and put that on the end of the studs. studs should have a nut on them to avoid damage. turn gun down and vibrate those studs, be carefull"

tried air chisel on studs with no sucess i have not budged the powerhead at all with all my efforts front rear nothing will move very frustrated at this point

You can drill into the stud fr

You can drill into the stud from the side.Drill only the ones you suspect as being jammed. This will cut the stud and release the powerhead.Drill near the powerhead.

"Thomas,

Drilling a hole as

"Thomas,

Drilling a hole as mentioned is an option, but if you are going to do that I would prefer just taking a sawz-all and cutting through the spacer, being careful not to damage the upper mount assembly. You can replace the spacer easily once you get the powerhead off. It is a good idea to examine a new or used spacer first so that you can decide where to make the cuts.
