150 hp hpdi start-up problem

Sometimes (not all the time) when I first start up my motor, it idles fine, but runs rough on acceleration like at least two cylinders are not firing. If I stop and re-start, (sometimes after several restarts) it will rev up and run fine.

What could be causing this? I treat my fuel for moisture and ethanol and have a spin on filter before the motor. I have not had any filter issues with dirt or water.

When is the last time you changed the $100.00 filter that is in line after the VST before the HP Injection pump?

It has never been changed. Dirty filter, maybe??? Is it a big deal to do myself?

BTW, when you remove the filter, you should be able to exhale through it, there should be no resistance.
