"Hi all,
My name is Kris and have a last model 150hp Blueband motor with a dizzy (78-79?).
My problem is it won`t accellerate from idle. It goes to, stumbles, revs drop and would probably stall if i keep it this way so i just back off the control so it idles still in gear .
History;
I bought this motor to replace my old 140 Chrysler, the Merc has been rebuilt by the previous owner with about 15hrs on it.
This is the first time out in it.
He suggested i still run 25:1 mix for the next 5hrs or so, so i do with 98 octane PULP.
Motor is still tight but haven`t done compression test yet but was assured all at least 150psi.
Had to rewire some corroded wires.
19 pitch prop.
15 foot runabout.
It idles great and starts well.
New water pump.
New NGK BUH8 plugs.
I have removed the fuel pump but everything looked good but need to buy a rebuild kit. This pump mounts on a 3 pointed stand/bracket behind the starter solenoid, has one hose that connects to the underside of the pump to the very lower part of the transfer plate (no. 6 cyl) and another hose to the side of no. 5 cyl.
Can anyone help me out with some ideas on where to start?
Sorry for such a long post but wanted to give as much ifo as i can. Kris"
