I have a 1986 150 Black Max that has been sitting for about 3 years. It ran well before it sat. I've brought it out to try and get it running again and it's having issues right out of the gate (which I expected). It actually turned over and started up nicely with the help of some starting fluid, but only runs for about 2-3 seconds. I suspect it isn't getting gas and is just burning the starter fluid and dying. But it's confusing me because if I give it some throttle it revs up, but I wouldn't think it would do that unless it was getting gas. I guess I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to what I should start checking next to get it to start and stay on. Any suggestions are extremely helpful! Thank you!
