Working on a 2011 Mercury 15 hp 4 stroke. The engine used to start and run great then began to start and run only for a few seconds or minute then die. Primer needed to be pumped and then it would restart. Changed out the primer, fuel line, flow valve with a West Marine unit. Same problem. Thought that a fuel issue in the carb might be closing the needle into the seat causing the fuel to "run" through the engine until the bowl was empty and rebuilt the carb. No debris or problem was found in rebuild except a o ring was found over the plunger in the primer housing on the carb. The o ring was loose around the plunger shaft. It is not shown in the part schematic at all and I have no idea where it is supposed to be if not there. Where does it go or even is it suppose to be there? What else am I over looking?
