"Hi,

I have a new 15Hp Merc

"Hi,

I have a new 15Hp Mercury Bigfoot outboard. This is a simple question. When I was connecting the gear and acceleartor cables, I disconnected what is a water house.

So at the back of the engine is a larger cable that feeds the indicator stream - but just before it goes into the indicator it T's off with a 1 third the capacity cable - that is about 1 and a half foot long.

This I must have disconnected - it too pumps water.

Does anyone know where it is supposed to go?

I've changed engines - from a 9 to a 15 which did not have this T off, and am usually ok with this sort of stuff - but just cant see the nipple it should connect to. Any ideas would be most helpful.

I'd just feel a dope bringing it back to the shop, plus all the hastle of doing that for this simple thing.

Have a guess if your not sure - Ideas Please?"

"Hi Jason, not a good idea to

"Hi Jason, not a good idea to post/username your e-mail address, to many scammers and junk mail will now head your direction,,,,,

Not sure about the cooling tube, if its a four stroke, its maybe from the fuel pump, to cool the pump"

"Hi Jason, cancel my last post

"Hi Jason, cancel my last post, the cooling tube to the fuel pump is for a 2000 to 2004 25hp bigfoot,,,,,,,my workshop manual only goes to 2004 and checking again for the 15hp, it does not show a t-piece on the tell tale, as you have a new engine, my last post was/maybe wrong"

"Hi James,

Thanks for takin

"Hi James,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Its a real head melter. I have not seen one of these cables before. I'm going to get the flash light out after work and comb the engine till I find where it goes.

Would love to get it in the water for the Weekend."

Well mystery solved.

I ran

Well mystery solved.

I rang the shop and they had hooked up a water guage to test the pressure and had not taken the t junction connections off.

They told me to take it off.

What a head melter - must have spent 6 hrs looking for a connection that did not exist. Nightmare.

Cheers for the help.

Jason
