I had my boat out on the water running fine one minute and then she just died. I took carb off and cleaned it up, took head off and gasket looks fine, took reed valve off and it looks fine not sticking or no cracks, took fly wheel off and shear pin was fine. I can take and spin fly wheel by hand, not much resistance, put fingers over spark plug ports and hardly any compression??? I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TEAR APART NEXT?? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

yes I have spark at the plug, after awhile of cranking it over, there is gas coming out of the exhaust by the prop, but the plug is not wet from gas???? brings me back to the question of compression, neither cylinder has much compression, tether switch is intact, gas vent is open

A sudden loss of compression is caused by lack of oil or overheating.--------What is the compression after truing up the head and installing a new head gasket ?

Other than a blown head gasket that would affect both cylinders, I can think of nothing that would result in both cylinders losing compression.

However, you state that the gasket looks fine. Either you are in error... OR... the rings/pistons on both cylinders have failed... OR... the cylinder head/crankcase sealing surfaces are in question.

thank you all so much for your thoughts and insight on my problem, might have to start with new rings and head gasket, since I can't really see the rings without taking the piston out.
