It seems that one or more of the jets in the carbs of my 140 Merc seem to be stuck open when the motor is swithed off, because fuel keeps on pouring out of the bottom of the motor when is is in the up position. Any suggestions ? how difficult is it to find the the culprit and how difficult is it to strip the carb and clean it out?

This is fairly common.Run fuel out of the carburetors before tilting the motor up.

Is it that simple? Is there no reason to try and fix the problem or could that just open a whole new can of worms.
