"I have 1980 Johnson 140 HP TNT, J140TLCS. It has had an intermittent problem for the past 2 seasons. After approx 30 minutes of continuous operation, it starts stalling, miss fires, studders, than completely shuts down. The fuel pump has been replaced, powerpacks and coils have been replaced, plugs are new. I know that it is getting fuel, my clear inline fuel filter is full. It is also hard to start when cold, but it does start. The primer pump seems to work. Could these problems be due to a bad stator / timer base"
