Issue firing up I tested it when I placed a spanner across the solenoid the engine cranks other wise all I get at ignition is the clicking of the solenoid but no crank can you please help. Also are these motors any good Thanks

Welcome,fill out the profile,you might be close to someone who can help.
I've had my motors since 1988 and yes they are good.
If all you get at the solenoid is a click.Then the solenoid is probabaly bad.
Test light at the 3 posts.2 big lugs and the one with the yellow lead.
Have someone turn the key.
If you getpower at all three and no start it's the solenoid.
