Hi Guys,
I have purchased a late 70's evinrude 235hp V6 I got it cheap for a re builder and was wondering if its going to be ok to put on the back of my 1979 5m NOVA half cabin.It currently has a 76 115hp loop charged Jonny on it.The previous owner told me that before the johnson it had a 200hp Yamaha on the back of it but i mean that could all be lies I cant even find any info on the net a bout this on how to hp rate your boat.Also my boats id plate only has the hin and year model stamped on it no engine limit or anything like that all the other spaces on it are blank.Any help with this would be greatly apreaciated.Im going to re build the engine anyways I realy want to put it on but if its going to be too big for whatever reason i may just sell it again or buy a suitable boat that dosent have an engine and try make some coin i guess.
