I have a 95 115hp johnson oil injected two stroke. After running the boat for a hour or so my water temp light comes on and the engine goes into what I believe is safe mode. Acts like its running on two cylinders and wont go over 2500 rpms. The water coming out of it is warm but not hot and the engine doesnt seem hot at all (however I have not validated the temp) I shut the boat off and restart it immediately and it runs fine. No warning light no slow mode no nothing. Sometimes its fine for 5 minutes sometimes 30. When it happens again same drill. Turn it off start back up within 15 seconds and I am good to go for a while. This has only happened after ive been running for an extended period of time (but usually on my way home) after ive been sitting on the beach for an hour) thermostats maybe? I feel very strongly the boat isnt over heating as after its restarted with no time to cool, its fine! Please help! Thanks!
