I have a 2000 115 and it is starting to sputter.

If i just cruize slo just a bove an idle works fine
give it just a little more gas and it works ok then its like i hit a clump of weeds motor slows and shkes a bit then ok again.

I am unable to plane actually sounds like it is trimed up to much.

Im going to get new plugs and filters tomorrow.
and check water seperator

any other ideas?

went down to do a lil trouble shooting.
I can get it to sputter even when it is idling if i let it go long enough,
or give a lil gas and let it idle it will start sputtering and shaking like its missing. then recover run normal
and eventually do it again.
So far it has never stalled but seems like its gonna.
I checked water seperater looks good .
bulb nice n stiff and when i squezze it i can see gas move around in low pressure filter.
Ordered one ne way not so sure that is it.
I have my plugs gonna check the gap and go down toss em in and
let it run a while to c wat happens

Have you changed your high pressure fuel filter that is in the vapor separator?

I have found that, in general, many runabiltiy issues with the 115 or 130 are caused by bad fuel or old spark plugs.

Try to run it off a small portable tank with fresh fuel. Be sure to put in NGK spark plugs. Honda's like them the best.

Turns out it was the spark plugs or a plug I changed em all.
Purin again.

another question re this motor honda dude...
when it is in neutral it makes a low howl that will get louder if
I give gas.
but in gear there is no howl.
I had boat to a honda/lund dealer when I bought it and the guy
guy said it was normal.
It's done it since I have owned it wondering if something is going.

Glad you found the problem.

The howl you speak of may be the sound of the air going into the air intake. It will probably be especially noticable if you have the engine cover off.

You may want to make sure that the intake connections, plastic intake and rubber bellows going into the throttle body are tight.

Unless you hear it coming from someplace else, it probably "is what it is".

Mike

Sounds more like a bearing to me then air.
And it noticable with cover on.

Guess I will wait and see if it goes it will be easier to find :)
Altho I might be rowing home.....
