Last two trips out this is my story. Starts and runs great at first. Runs for about 30-40 min. Get to out destination then sits for about an hour. Starts and runs great again. Get to second destination then sits for a while again. Then starts and idles but put it in gear and stalls. Any suggestions. Thanks

"If reving the engine somewhat

"If reving the engine somewhat, clearing it out so to speak before engaging gear, does it still stall out?"

Yes. Tried reving it up. Tried

Yes. Tried reving it up. Tried letting it run for a few. Same thing go to put in gear and dies. She will start back up and idle. Thanks

"Closely observe the stator under the flywheel for cracks and a substance that mat be dripping down upon the timer base and powerhead.

If the stator is dripping the substance as above, replace the stator.

Melting stator when cold may emit satisfactory ignition BUT when hot will not."

"Took of flywheel cover and observed this white substance. Is this what I should be looking for with a melting stator. Thanks Brandon

"You need to look up under the flywheel, The stuff shown looks like grease ? Is it very sticky like a paste ? If yes then it could be the white glue and can be melting from the stator , Simply pull the flywheel and you will see it"

"Took off flywheel and stator

"Took off flywheel and stator looked perfect. Put it back together and changed plugs. Took her out today and ran her offshore for 30-40 mins at 5200 rpm. Got to destination and sat for 4 hours and did same exact thing. Starts, idiols and the put in gear and rpms drop and stalls. This time on restart would idol for a bit them drop rpms and stall. Got it to idol longer by pumping fuel ball. Any suggestions? Why runs so good at first then not? Thanks."

"On the 2nd start, the trouble

"On the 2nd start, the troublesome start..... do you pump the fuel primer bulb up hard again before attempting to start the engine?"

"From the description I think

"From the description I think You have a soon failing power-pack and optical sensor. If possible, bring along an 'ignition analyzer' (borrow from dealer?) on next trip and run a test when problem occurs.
The other possibility is that You have a failing vapor pump."

Yes I do pump the primer bulb

Yes I do pump the primer bulb up. Do you think this is at all a fuel problem. Should I start simple with a carb rebuild.

"Brandon..... Due to the year

"Brandon..... Due to the year of your engine of which my knowledge is limited, I'm going to back out of here so others will jump in here who can answer your questions properly."

"It can indeed be a fuel issue

"It can indeed be a fuel issue, during idle the engine leans out or floods. Apply throttle which advances spark/timing and stalls !
Remove the front cover and start her up observe for flooding of the carbs if not its probably clog up.
I good cleaning will not hurt at all.
You can simply start by using an external tank and bypass what you have. Maybe clog lines, bad vent etc"

"I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME PR

"I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2005 115 2 STROKE. I HAVE REBUILT THE CARBS, CHANGED FUEL LINES, NEW WATER SEPERATOR AND SPARK PLUGS STILL HAVING A PROBLEM. ON MINE IF YOU PUSH IN ON THE FUEL PREESURE RELIEF VALVE I THINK THATS WHAT IT IS CALLED IT LOOKS LIKE A TIRE VALVE WITH A RED CAP ON IT. ANYWAY IF I PUSH THAT IN IT STARTS GREAT SO I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO WISH I COULD HELP YA"
