110 HP Johnson Trim and Tilt

I recovered a 110 V4 Johnson from a boat that was long unused. Runs great. The wires had been cut on the trim/tilt. The 3 wires from the handle do not have the same colors as the 3 wires coming from the junction box. There is actually 5 wires from the junction box, in a bundle. 2 of these have wire terminals that screws go through. I suspect these 2 wires go to trim gauge. I have hooked the 3 wires left , several ways and nothing works. can anyone tell me how to jump across terminals in the junction box, just to see if the trim motor works? Any information on the wiring, is appreciated.
