110 9.8 kickback

Really, need a hand lifting it into your pickup truck ?--------Post model information and nature of the problem in detail.

Sorry,

I accidentally posted without info. Here goes.

Im not sure what year my motor is but serial number starts with 7 so ive traced it to a Canadian model from the info i got on this site.

Motor starts and runs but jerks and kicks at low rpms. After a couple jerks it will start running great but it will stop peeing, when i put it in forward it does nothing. When in reverse it goes forward. It seems that the pistons r running backwards (if that makes sense)

When running as it jerks if o pull off the 2nd cylinder plug wire it perrs like a kitten. Runs great. If I put the plug back on it starts jerking again and in time will stop peeing and soo forth.
It will start and run on cylinder 1. But it will not start nor run on cylinder 2.

Im thinking cylinder 2 is getting spark at the wrong time. Ive swapped coils but it made no difference.

Im thinking it's the switch box but km not 100% sure.

Does anyone have experience with this? Hopefully Ive explained it correctly.

Thanks,

Jakub

I would suspect the switchbox for the cylinder miss. I believe www.cdielectronics.com has the troubleshooting guide for that. The shifting problem I would say is caused by somebody replacing the water pump and not lining up the shift linkage correctly. The waterpump problem can be checked when the lower unit is off.

The shifting happens after the motor jerks real bad. Everything is perfect and running, fwd/rvrs are good, motor jerks/kicks, water stops flowing, no fwd, reverse is now forward. I have reinstated the shaft. I don't think it's a shaft issue unless im missing something.

Not sure what u mean by checking flywheel key. I did check the line marks on both sides of fly wheel.
