08 Mercury 50 2 stroke throttle adjustment help!

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong spot! Anyhow, I recently picked up a new boat with a 08 Mercury 50 2 stroke the boat also has the gen 2 mercontroller. I've ran the boat 23 times now and it runs amazing! However, I did feel the boat was lacking a little power. Well yesterday while having the lid off the motor I pushed the throttle control all the forward and noticed my carbs aren't opening all the way at all maybe more like half. I tried adjusting the barrel on the throttle cable to get it to open farther but then it won't travel all the way back down as if the cable just doesn't have enough throw... Where do I start? Really need to get this figured out asap! Thanks!!

I would start at the throttle handle/control. make sure its turning/pushing as far as it can. Im not familiar with your motor but in general that's where to start. if its a cable, your cable could be stretched and not allowing full throttle unless you adjust but then again you wont get your full closer like you stated. you dont need he butterflies on the carb to open 100% to get full power. 75% is open enough for max power
