06 90HP Optimax steady buzzer at 5k RPM

Running fine at lower RPM. Once I hit about 4500-5000, the continuous alarm sounds and engine will hesitate. Pushing it a little more causes a stronger engine hesitation. I understand a continuous alarm is generally heat, but seems weird to me in the case. Visually strong pee stream. Did have one time yesterday where I was able to go full throttle with no alarm and no issue, then after sitting a bit, problem came back. Suggestions short of dealer plugging it in? Thinking fuel issue? Help appreciated as on vacation....of course.......
