01 Merc 60HP fuel pump question

Is a carburetor and EFI fuel pump the same on this engine except for the water passages?

Explain a carburetor on an EFI motor ??-----Fuel injected motors do not have carburetors.-----Model / serial # of your motor ?----Why are you asking this question ?

No you got me wrong. NOT a carb on an EFI. Gee wiz. The fuel pump! An EFI fuel pump has a water cooling passage a carburetor engine does not for a 01 Merc 60Hp. Obviously a carb engine fuel pump wont work on a EFI engine that requires the water cooling passage on the fuel pump. Here is what I should have asked. Is it OK to put a EFI (fuel pump) on a carburetor engine? 01 Merc 60 HP 4 stroke 4 carb engine

Never mind. My initial question was still about a fuel pump if you will reread it. Not anywhere close to asking if a carb will fit on a EFI! Thank you for the reply anyway.
