    1983/85 Evinrude 50hp - Hard to start.

When I 1st go out to start her up, it takes a little effort to do so, usually a couple of minutes. feels like it's starving for fuel, tried the fuel squeeze and its firm and I give it a couple of winds and re sweeze, still firm... then Wammo...

    1984 Evinrude 50HP.. No spark..

    I have just puchased a 1984 50hp, tried to turn it over and she wouldnt start.. did all the basics and found I have no spark on Both of the 2 coils. the flywheel doesnt look like it has moved of the keyway, so I was wondering how to test or what else to look for? Im thinking the CDU black box...

    Whats the difference between 1970 33hp Model 33053 and 1973 40hp 40355?

    I picked up a second hand engine and was told it was a 1973 40hp Evinrude as parts for the one I already have..I have checked the model # 33053 and have since found it is NOT a 1973 40hp model# 40355. Apart from the carbbi, the kill switch and a couple of other little things she looks the same...
