    still can't get this motor to idle, so I took it to the shop. I was told the bottom crank seal was bad and that was causing my problem. I pulled the power head and found the gasket between power head exhaust adapter blown. could this really be causing all my problems. crank seal looks ok but...

    1988 88 hp johnson still won't idle

    I have a 1988 j88. It has great spark, good compression, new fuel, lines, abd carbs have been rebuilt. Starts easy, but will not idle below 1800. Motor will shudder and die. HELP

    1988 johnson 88spl

    I have a 88spl that wont idle without using primer switch. I,ve made all the usual checks, spark, compression, cleaned carbs. Think this could be fuel pump problem? Any help would be helpful. Thanks
