    Will the lower unit from a 1979 Johnson 175hp fit a 1976 Johnson 115hp?

    The problem - wont shift into reverse. If I adjust the cables so I can shift into reverse I cannot shift into forward. Have replaced the following - both cables, and are on the third lower unit. Many mechanics have spent many hours and I have spend lots of $'s. Motor runs great either...
