I have used the software. It's not a disc or download, it's a micro SD card. I found it fairly easy to install and use and it did have the correct cable for my DF20A. Instructions for set up are included.
The motor in the video is limiting RPMs because it is in neutral, try putting it in forward gear and revving it.
If it's exhibiting this problem on the water then it might be a fuel problem, are you using fresh gas?
Does anyone have any experience with updating a DF20A to add the power tilt feature? Just wondering if this is feasible and if so where I might obtain parts.
With red light and limp home mode there should be warnings stored in the SDS system. It would be in the "Caution Sys. Info" area of the Service Data Window. It took me a while to find this, it's not particularly intuitive.
The BR5hs is a "hotter" plug, running the BR6hs could result in it eventually fouling with carbon deposits but I don't think it would cause a noticeable reduction in power. I would recommend replacing with the correct plug when it's convenient to do so.
